Sunday Spotlight: Nina Park

Project Title: Small Joys

Artist Statement: When I think back to my childhood, I have hazy memories of my dad filming out family vacations, showing me how to work a camera, and looking through photo albums together of every picture he’s ever taken (mostly mundane, and even unflattering).

There’s a part of me that believes he just wanted to memorialize the everyday moments of his life, no matter how mundane. But those mundane moments are the ones that give me today a tiny glimpse into how he saw the world around him.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to realize that this interest in photography stems a lot from the love I have for those memories of watching my dad’s unabashed frivolity behind the lens.

Bio: Nina Park is a Copenhagen-based graphic designer and photographer who’s currently pursuing an MA in Design for Play at Designskolen Kolding. She’s looking to make the world a happier place through thoughtful (yet playful!) design solutions.

You can find more of Nina’s work on her website.
